On the 1st of January 2012 at 7am God spoke to me about assembling the women in the region. He put it on my heart to set aside one day a year on which women can gather together and worship, creating an environment where women would be encouraged and empowered. Resources and finances were limited, but I knew we couldn’t wait to make this vision a reality. The first conference was held on 20 October 2012 at the Rixos Hotel in Dubai. With only 10 tickets sold two weeks before the conference, I wasn’t sure if anyone would come. But, of course, God was faithful to His word, and we had 200 ladies in attendance! Every year we have experienced God’s faithfulness and seen Him move in women’s lives in the most incredible way. Every year we are encouraged when we hear testimonies of women being set free in areas of their lives from unforgiveness and offense to eating disorders, fear, and so many other areas of bondage.
The heart of Scarlet is to create an environment of freedom and to honour women. We are committed to inviting women who are making a difference in the world and stepping out in faith and boldness in their own lives to minister at Scarlet.
The meaning of the name Scarlet
The name Scarlet was inspired by this scripture in Isaiah 1:17-18:
Learn to do what is right and promote justice
Give the oppressed reason to celebrate,
Take up the cause of the orphan and defend the rights of the widow!
“Though your sins have stained you like the color red,
you can become white like snow;
though they are as easy to see as the colour SCARLET
you can become white like wool.
God is offering you a new life, a clean life, a restart. God demonstrated his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. God says he didn’t go through the trouble of sending his son merely to point an accusing finger telling the world how bad we are but to offer salvation through his son. Before he formed you in your mother’s womb he knew you and He set you apart for a Divine Purpose. If you do not personally know this amazing God that’s calling you by name do not waste another second of living a day without His love. Do not be afraid, you can trust Him with your life. After all, He created you.
